Sink or Float?

Today we had our third student lose a tooth this month and it happened at lunch! How exciting! Today we started talking about surveys during math. We will continue to work on them all week long. Not only will we think of questions and collect data, but we will also work on interpreting the results.

In science today we made predictions about if pine or plywood would sink or float when placed in water. Then we tested our hypotheses. What do you think will happen? Then we talked about how we could make something that floats, sink. On Thursday we will use paperclips and rubber bands and see if we can sink the wood.

Today I began holding Parent Conferences. I really enjoyed meeting with families today and I look forward to spending time with each of you later this week or next week.
