"First Grade Friends Scavenger Hunt"

Today in Social Studies we went on a First Grade Friends Scavenger Hunt. The children had to find a friend who likes...
..the playground
...carrots
...seeing a movie
...swimming
...answering the phone
When their found a friend who fit what they were looing for, their friend signed their paper. It was a lot of fun getting to know our classmates!

We also learned the color RED song. We will be learning songs that teach us how to spell the color words. After learning the song, the students illustrated it and it was the first poem that we put in our Poetry Notebooks. Ask your child to sing it to you! It's sung to the tune or "Are you Sleeping?" It goes like this:
R-E-D, red
R-E-D, red
I can spell red.
I can spell red.
Fire trucks are red.
Stop signs are red.
R-E-D
R-E-D
