Partner Beanbag Toss & Open House

Today during Word Work we practiced our spelling our words with a Partner Beanbag Toss. Students worked in pairs tossing a beanbag back and forth as they spelled each word.

Tonight was also Open House. The children were very excited to bring their families to school and show them everything that we’ve been working on. When the families arrived, they began a scavenger hunt, which included completing several tasks. Some of the tasks included reading at least five words on the word wall and even trying to spell them with their eyes closed, sharing their prompt writing journal and reading the prompt that they completed this morning, and reading an entry from their writing journal that they were especially proud of. After visiting the classroom, the students took their families to visit Art, Music, PE and the library.
