How Many Letters Are In Your Name?

Today, each student counted the number of letters in their name. Then, they wrote down their name, one letter in each box. The students came up and graphed their names. Then we discussed what they noticed about our graph.

We also learned a new game in Math. It is called "More than, less than, or the Same as 10." Students would draw 10's frames filled with dots. They would have to decide if their frame had more than, less then, or the same number as 10. They took turns with a partner and recorded what they drew. After playing once, I was able to challenge the students to pick two cards at a time, add them together, then decide if they were more than, less than, or the same as 10.
