This week we read Tumble Bumble by Felica Bond several times. We focused on rhyming words, action words (a.k.a. verbs), and sequencing the events of the story. Today, the children cut out each character and glued them in order on a sentence strip. Then, some students requested to make theirs into headbands.
Later in the day, during Word Work, we went outside with sidewalk chalk to practice our weekly words. It was fun writing on the sidewalk!
Today, Clarissa's mom returned to be our guest reader! We really enjoyed the stories she shared with us! We gave her a "firecracker" for reading to us.
Our day ended with Buddies with Mrs. Russell's 4th grade class. Today we created Venn Diagrams and discussed how each set of buddies were the same and different.
