Scientist of the Week-Balloon Power

This week's scientist of the week taught us all about static electricity. First he had a volunteer come up and showed us what would happen if he rubbed a balloon on her head and then held it near her hair. Then he showed us how the balloon stuck to her head. He also demonstrated rubbing the balloon on her shirt to charge it. Finally, he showed us how he could pick up little bits of paper with the balloon. He gave each student materials so that they could do this experiment at home, too. Cool!
