Since this week we will be celebrating Chinese New Year, in math, we explored tangrams. We read "Grandfather Tang's Story" by Ann Tompert. We learned that tangram puzzles are made up of 7 pieces. Then we each were able to explore a set tangrams and see what we could make. The next day, students used paper tangrams to create their own unique pictures. After they glued down the pieces, they wrote about them.
