Scientist of the Week- Paper Petals

Our scientist showed us a paper flower he had cut out and colored. Then, he folded in the petals and placed in on top of some water on a plate. Slowly the paper soaked up the water and the petals began to open. His experiment showed us what happens to flowers when they are short of water, they usually close up their petals and when they have enough they open all the way up. Beautiful!
