Scientist of the Week- Vinegar Volcano

This week our scientist made a volcano erupt in the classroom! She first filled a bottle one third full with vinegar. Then, she added a few drops of red food coloring. Next, she added one tablespoon of liquid soap. In another bottle she put 3 teaspoons of baking soda. She put a paper volcano over that bottle and poured the first mixture into it. Immediately, it erupted! The kids were so excited! They were very impressed that she had practiced several times at home, too.
