On Friday, we celebrated the Chinese New Year, the year of the golden pig. First, we reviewed 2-D & 3-D shapes by making a dragon out of them and then recorded the shapes we used. We read several books and then we made dragon masks with our 4th grade buddies. Then we filled out a chart which showed the next 12 years and what animal sign it will be each year. Finally, we practiced using chopsticks with potstickers, broccoli, rice, and tofu. We also had fortune cookies and celebrated with chinese noise makers.
