Social Studies

While learning about Martin Luther King, Jr., we read several books about him. After reading "Martin's Big Words," we read "The Crayon Box That Talked." We discussed how the two stories were similar. In "The Crayon Box That Talked", the crayons couldn't get along. Finally a little girl bought the box of crayons and used them all in a drawing. The crayons learned to respect and like each other. We too, are like crayons. In our class "We are a box of crayons, each one of us unique. But when we get together, the picture is complete!"

In Social Studies, we also learned about Landforms. We created flip books illustrating all of the landforms that our earth has. I'll hang up the finished products outside our room.
