Our Readers' Celebration & Hootennany

On Friday, we had a day full of celebrating reading. We started off with a Readers' Celebration. We invited our parents and big buddies to come so we could show off our reading. After reading our books to them, we enjoyed a snack. Then, Ms. Shapiro handed out certificates, books, and book marks. We are very proud of our reading success.

Then, we had a Hootennany to celebrate reading at least 5 chapter books during Story Time. We read Junie B. Jones Toothless Wonder, Franny K. Stein Lunch Walks Among Us, Andrew Lost on the Dog, Andrew Lost in the Bathroom, Bunnicula, and Ramona the Pest. We wore our pajamas to school and brought books, stuffed animals, blankets and flashlights. Mrs. Kraal welcomed us into the library and we made forts out of our blankets. She also provided treats for us--donuts with sprinkles! Then, she turned out the lights and we read and read. It was SO much fun! We can't wait until we finish reading 5 more books and have another Hootennany!
